After seeing a request for E9th Hawaiian tabs, I went to work and tabbed out some songs that are familiar, to me anyway.
It was rather a "blast from the past" as I cut my baby teeth on this type of music. When I first started taking "Hawaiian" guitar lessons over 50 years ago, this was the music of the day. I started playing this music in the A major tuning, progressed to the E tuning and then wound up in C6th.
I had never done much with Hawaiian music on the pedal steel so it was a lot of fun.
I will list the songs I have tabbed out and they are available for a dollar ($1) a piece plus postage.
Here they are:
A Song Of Old Hawaii
Adventures In Paradise
Aloha 'Oe (Farewell to Thee)
Bali Ha'i
Beautiful Kahana
Beyond The Reef
Beyond The Rainbow
Blue Hawaii
Christmas Island
Coconut Grove
Drifting And Dreaming (Sweet Paradise)
Drowsy Waters (Wailana)
For You A Lei
Hanalei Moon
Harbor LIghts
Hawaiian Sunset
Hilo March
King's Serenade
Little Brown Gal
Lovely Hula Girl
Lovely Hula Hands
Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas in Hawaiian)
Moonlight And Shadows
My Island Paradise
My Isle Of Golden Dreams
My Little Grass Shack In Kealakekua, Hawaii
Now Is The Hour
One More Aloha
Pagan Love Song
Paradise Isles
Pearly Shells
Pretty Red Hibiscus
Quiet Village
Red Sails In The Sunset
Sea Breeze
Sleepy Lagoon
Song Of The Islands
Sophisticated Hula
South Sea Island Magic
Stranger On The Shore
Sunny Days, Starry Nights
Sweet Leilani
The Aloha Waltz
The Days Of My Youth
The Hawaiian Love Call
The Hawaiian Wedding Song
The Mau'i Waltz
The Moon Of Manakoora
The Sands Of Waikiki
(There Goes) Kealoha
Tiny Bubbles
To You Sweetheart Aloha
Yellow Bird
BTW: Some of these songs were taken from arrangements by the old staff at Oahu. These are not single string style tabs, they are written in "chordal" melody fashion with a majority of 3 string grips.
